Garden of Life

Auroville, TN

625 sqm

Built

A public garden located under a large banyan tree, which is the geographical centre of the township’s masterplan. Set against the backdrop of a meditation pavilion, the design is inspired by the spiritual concept of life force, as explained by Auroville’s founding guide The Mother. The landscaped sanctuary is ideal for both community gatherings and individual introspection.

This project was completed in collaboration with two other architects Anandit Sachdev and Vir Shah, as part of a 2-stage design competition.
